Description

Queen Victoria's Accession brought an end to the personal union between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Hanover. Hanover didn't allow women to inherit the crown, so the German kingdom passed to the Duke of Cumberland. As a consequence, the British Royal Arms had to be changed to remove references to Hanover.
