As you know, the duties of the office of Lord Great Chamberlain are at the moment performed by deputy and it is understood that Lord Ancaster, the present deputy, wishes to relinquish his office owing to age and infirmity.

The present co-heirs are the Marquess of Cholmondeley, the Earl of Ancaster and the issue of the late Marquess of Lincolnshire, and in accordance with precedent, they have agreed to nominate Lord Willoughby de Eresby as their deputy and for that purpose have completed Deeds of Nomination. I attach a submission.

I might add that Lord Ancaster has expressed the hope that it will be possible to issue the Warrant before the Opening of Parliament as the Deputy has the duty of receiving the King on that occasion.
