Ornamentation
Document is highly ornamented. Full color arms of the Garter at the top. Border of gold-and-blue tassels with Cross of St. George surrounded by the Garter in the upper left and right corners.
"We," "Sovereign," and the first instance of the Duke of Albany's name are printed in gold. There are also two different types of Gothic lettering. One with extensive flourishes is used for "The Most Noble Order of the Garter," "And Whereas," and "By the Sovereign's Command." A simpler one is used for "We" and "Given." Second instance of the Duke's name is larger and surrounded by flourishes. "Knight Companion" is in boldface and italicized. Rest of the document is in a Copperplate script.
