Mr James Callaghan, with his humble duty to Your Majesty, has the honour respectfully to submit for Your Majesty's approval a recommendation by Your Majesty's Bahamian Ministers that Mr Sidney Poitier, a United States citizen, be appointed an honorary Knight Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition of his valuable services to Bahamian interests.
