Message from the Queen
The Earl of Arlie: My Lords, I have the honour to present to your Lordships a message from Her Majesty the Queen signed by her own hand. The message is as follows:

"I have received your Address praying that the Address to my Royal predecessor of 5th July 1927 on peerages in abeyance be set aside and submitting certain recommendations on the procedure to be followed should further claims to peerages in abeyance arise. I will comply with your advice and will issue instructions in accordance herewith."

[Ed. Note: the 1927 Address was actually passed on July 7, not July 5.]
