BY HAND
As agreed, I enclose herewith the warrant appointing Lord Belstead Lord Privy Seal which you very kindly agreed to place before The Queen on Thursday [in the margin: 14th] after the Privy Council meeting. She should sign at the top left hand corner where indicated by the pencil crosses.
I have spoken to the Home Office and, in view of the tight time scale, they agree that it would be better to ask the Lord Chancellor to sign the warrant on behalf of the Home Secretary. I should, therefore, be grateful if you would let me have the warrant some time during the afternoon of the 14th so that the Letters Patent can be sealed that day.
With many thanks for your help.

Ornamentation
This is a typewritten copy with handwritten annotations.
Special Features
The end of the handwritten annotation is conjectural based on the fact that the Court Circular records that there was a Privy Council meeting on January 19.
It is not clear why Waine felt it necessary to explain where Queen Elizabeth II should sign the Warrant given that she had been signing similar Warrants for over 36 years by that point.
