Special Features
This Order in Council differs from earlier examples in that it does not direct a Secretary of State to prepare a Royal Warrant to grant the necessary authorization to the Lord Privy Seal. Instead, the Order itself contains the authorization.
The Privy Seal in question was originally commissioned for Queen Victoria. Since its use was discontinued in the 19th century, the Lord Privy Seal does not actually need to seal anything.
