Special Features

The footer on p. 1 refers to this instrument as a "Letter Recommendatory" while other instruments of this type are referred to as "Letters Missive" (cf. the 2011 Letters Missive for the See of Winchester).

The wording of this instrument is a bit more elaborate than others of its type since it recites Justin Welby's resignation under section 4 of the Bishops (Retirement) Measure 1986, the King's acceptance of the resignation, and Order in Council declaring the Archbishopric vacant.
