Special Features

This document is missing the King's signature, the countersignature of a responsible minister (it was likely countersigned by the Lord Chancellor/Secretary of State for Justice), as well as the Lord Chancellor's recepi.

According to the document, the Justice Secretary signified the King's command to prepare the instrument. This is standard procedure for most documents that pass under the Great Seal. This suggests that, even though many contemporary accounts of Andrew's degradation framed it as the King's decision first and foremost, ministers nevertheless played their usual administrative roles.
